This essay analyses two short stories by Argentinian author Juan José Saer, with the aim to examine the elements related to the author figures and the writing-scenes images. The objective of this operation is to emphasize the procedures which Saer uses to carry out one of the most striking operations in his poetics: his work’s exhaustive reflection on itself and the elusive figure that emerges from that process, figure that only in a speculative way of speaking can be related to the Author Figure.
