Publishing process
Peer review process
Manuscripts submitted to Revista Facultad de Odontología Universidad de Antioquia are evaluated first by the chief editor, who verifies that submissions fully comply with the guidelines for authors and with ethical requirements for publication according to the type of manuscript. With the collaboration of the Journal’s Editorial Board, relevance of the submission is determined and then is sent for peer review.
Reviewers must hold a master’s degree or PhD and must have publications in the last two years. As much as possible, the frequency of external evaluators must be in line with national and international requirements for publication of scientific journals. The Journal uses double-blind peer review, in which the evaluators are unaware of the identity of the author and the author is unaware of the identity of the evaluators. In case of possible conflicts in the acceptance of a manuscript by evaluators, a third evaluator is consulted, prior analysis by the Editorial Board. Evaluators are provided with an evaluation form (available in our OJS platform).
