Abstract

Without any doubt, the concept of culture is really present in the debate of the political philosophy (especially in the communitarist side). In this article I try to do a conceptual approximation to the notion of culture (centered in the notes of the subjectivity -the who- and the survival -the why-) to emphasize, finally, the vision of culture in which seems to be supported the political liberalism. The liberal side regards with more attention to the value of the individual (the exercise of his autonomy), whose defense constitutes the central axis of its proposed of the universality of the human rights.
