Adapt or educate the human species? Training, adaptation and education in Kant’s Pedagogy
Keywords:
adaptation, preparation, training, Immanuel Kant, Pedagogy, animality, educationAbstract
This conference approaches the text by philosopher Immanuel Kant’s Pedagogy —which collects
the lessons taught by him about this field of knowledge— from an ethical perspective that evaluates contemporary education in the light of the means that convey all education: training. Either
training with a view to education (Bildung), and therefore considering the future of the species, or training with a view to adaptation (Anpassung), aiming for a comfortable adjustment to the requirements of the present.
