Abstract

En el presente artículo se analizará el concepto de universalidad del conocimiento bajo las perspectivas histórica e epistemológica, con el fin de poder dilucidar así el núcleo de significado de la universidad en el momento mismo de su creación, para luego comparar esta visión con las modificaciones institucionales producidas en la universidad con ocasión de los cambios de paradigma propios de la modernidad. Esta comparación servirá de base para la presentación del estado actual del escenario epistémico donde se construye y reconstruye la universidad de hoy.
