Situation and perspective of research at the Inter-American School of Library Science: a vision from the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation of Colombia

This paper is an overview of the current situation of the research groups of the Escuela Interamericana de Bibliotecología, seen from four perspectives: (1) the educational level of the researchers; (2) the production of new knowledge; (3) educational background in research, and (4) social appropriation of knowledge; encoded into the structure and policies of the Colombian National System for Science, Technology, and Innovation. Finally, we undertake a general evaluation of the goals and outlook for research in the School, especially in the design of research programs and the strengthening and development of the research groups.
