Caracterización y análisis de asociación de BoLA-DRB3 con el conteo de células somáticas, en la raza Holstein en Antioquia, Colombia

En el presente estudio se investigó la asociación entre BoLA-DRB3, resistencia o susceptibilidad a enfermedades infecciosas como mastitis en bovinos y alto conteo de células somáticas (SCS), en una población de la raza Holstein en Antioquia (Colombia). Se encontró un promedio de SCS de 3,14 y los resultados permitieron establecer que el alelo BoLA-DRB3-185 presentó una asociación significativa (p < 0,05) con alto SCS. No se detectó asociación de ninguno de los alelos DRB3 encontrados con presencia o ausencia de mastitis. Además, BoLA-DRB3 en esta población es altamente polimórfico y los alelos 183, 185 y 193, fueron detectados con la mayor frecuencia en la población Holstein colombiana analizada. La población se encontró en equilibrio de Hardy-Weinberg.
