Abstract

The association of BoLA-DRB3 with resistance and susceptibility to infectuos diseases and somatic count cell (SCS) were investigated in the breed Holstein of Antioquia (Colombia). It was found in the population one middle of SCS of 3.14 and the results of this study demonstrated that the BoLA-DRB3-185 allele, is associated with high SCS. It was not found association of alleles DRB3 with mastitis. BoLA-DRB3 is highly polymorphic, and alleles 183, 185, and 193 were detected with high frequency in Colombian Holstein. This population showed Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.
