Abstract

In this article we will study three moments of Lacan's teaching in order to locate the place of the loving partner when he cannot be reduced to the condition of counterpart. We intend to find a common structure in different periods: the function of interpe llation. The three times we will study are: the conception of love pact in Seminar III; the consequences of the introduction of the object a at the level of desire in Seminar X; Seminar XIV, wherein the developments on feminine jouissance from Seminar XX are anticipated. The study explains its condition of jouissance presupposed in the failure inherent in sexual encounter.
