Criticism and Crisis of Capitalism. From Marx to the Critical Theory of Value and the Becoming-Rent of Profit

For political theory it is essential to know Marx's labor theory of value because it establishes that the crisis is the product of the contradictions between capital and labour. The article discusses the interpretations that the critical theory of value and the theory of becoming-income make of Marx's theory and the possibilities of exiting the crisis and of the political subject of change. In this framework, what are the contributions of both theories? While for the critical theory of value the only way out is the inevitable collapse of capitalism and the impossibility of the political subject; for the second, since capital captures life and social time in its entirety (the so-called cognitive capitalism), it argues for the need to democratize social benefit and the constitution of the political subject in universal basic income. However, both theories have their limitations: the first due to the absence of the political subject of change, the second due to the latency of the crisis, since it does not take charge of the contradictions immanent to capitalism.
