PREVALENCIA DE LA FARMACODEPENDENCIA EN SECTOR INDUSTRIAL DE MEDELLIN (1)
Abstract
Since ancient times, man has been a born experimenter, especially with substances that provide physical and mental pleasure; this is how we see in ancient cultures, China, Japan, etc., the flourishing of the consumption of psychoactive substances with variable acceptance by society.
With the advance of communications, western society had ample contact with these substances, but ideological and religious characteristics that catalogued these customs as barbaric prevented their propagation for a long time.
In the modern era, their use spread everywhere, creating real problems, such as reduced work capacity, social and family disturbances, mainly caused by drug addicts. The use and abuse of drugs has had a growing boom in all nations of the world, mainly in the last twenty years. Our country has not been left out of this frank epidemic, which has been characterized by its extension to all economic and social levels, affecting considerably the young population group with disastrous consequences for mental health and for the process of social development.
