For reviewers

The evaluation of the manuscripts is fundamental to ensuring the scientific quality of the publications.  This evaluation is carried out by two anonymous peers.

Reviewers are selected on the basis of their expertise in the subject and the focus of the manuscript. These will be external to the institution of origin of the authors and the University of Antioquia, as the publishing institution of the Revista Facultad Nacional de Salud Pública.

The waiting time in the evaluation process is three days to choose reviewers, one week to check availability, four weeks for the evaluation.

The reviewers evaluate the manuscript according to the criteria shown in the evaluation sheet, they can include observations within the text, which will improve its quality. They are also asked if they agree to verify the adjustments to the manuscript, if approved.

The Editorial Committee reviews the reviewers’ comments and suggestions. If one peer rejects the article and the other does not, the Editorial Committee decides whether to request a third reviewer or to make the decision based on the detailed analysis of the manuscript and the reviewers' feedback.

Peer support in the evaluation process is recognized through a certificate of participation and in the annual list of reviewers, published at the end of each volume.

The evaluation must be accepted, the manuscript downloaded and the evaluation form uploaded through the journal's platform. These should not be sent by email.
