Conocimientos y actitudes en salud oral en estudiantes de odontología: revisión sistemática

Resumen

Introducción: la salud oral se relaciona con actitudes, prácticas y conocimientos, estos últimos contribuyen a una buena salud oral.

Objetivos: identificar los conocimientos y actitudes en salud oral que se presentan en estudiantes de odontología según la evidencia en la literatura.

Materiales y métodos: fue realizada una revisión bibliográfica en la literatura científica, en las siguientes bases de datos: PUBMED, BVS, BBO Odontología, los criterios de inclusión fueron: a) Estudios realizados de 2000 hasta diciembre del 2021; Participantes: estudiantes de odontología, tipos de estudio: cuantitativo; diseño de estudio: revisión bibliográfica; idioma: español e inglés, que fueran artículos textos completos; b) Fenómeno a revisar conocimiento y actitudes en salud oral; c) Diseño de los estudios prospectivos.

Resultados: la búsqueda fue realizada con las siguientes palabras y operadores booleanos seleccionados fueron: en español: “conocimientos”, “actitudes”, “salud oral”, en inglés: “attitude”, “knowledge”, “oral health”. Dicha estrategia de búsqueda se utilizó de igual manera en todas las bases reportadas. El método de evaluación se basó adicionalmente a cumplir criterios de inclusión a las metodologías PICO y SPIDER.

Conclusiones: los estudios de esta revisión sistemática, nos permite identificar el impacto que tiene la prevención y hacer conciencia en el cuidado de la salud bucodental.
