This study presents a theoretical reliability analysis of mechanical manufacturing process of a cutting tool subject to flank wear. The process reliability is a statistical relation between cutting tool, operator and machine-tool. The cutting tool life is modeled with a probability function representing the chance that a critical wear magnitude is achieved in a given time period. Parameters for this probability function are calculated based on experimental analysis, as well as on reliability of a cutting tool.
