Xavier Jaravel’s book, Marie Curie habite dans le Morbihan. Démocratiser l’innovation, explores the relationship between innovation and inequalities. While innovation drives economic growth and poverty reduction, it can also exacerbate social and economic disparities. Jaravel identifies structural forces shaping this dynamic and proposes three key priorities: fostering inclusive education in science and innovation, resisting protectionism to open markets, and developing democratic governance that actively involves citizens in technological decision-making. The author critically evaluates the limits of market openness amid environmental challenges, offering transformative insights into innovation policies aimed at collective emancipation.
