ABSTRACT In this paper, we are comparing the Western Caribbean English-based creoles of San Andrés, Providence, and Nicaragua. We focus on the lexicon, the verbal system, and personal pronouns. We argue that variation both within and across varieties is diastratic rather than diatopic and that it is not always indicative or language changeDownloads
