Abstract

El tema para el concurso nacional de filosofía en 1996 fue la relación entre filosofía y pedagogía. El autor, interpretando a Estanislao Zuleta, afirma que "la pedagogía es enseñar a pensar". Más que trasmitir conocimientos, es inducir al alumno a reflexionar sobre los mismos: ¿qué significan?, ¿para qué sirven?, y que actúe en concordancia. Ni siquiera en filosofía puede el pedagogo ofrecer su método. El alumno debe encontrar el suyo, no importa si más adelante tiene que cambiar de opinión, así sea doloroso. Se corren riesgos, sí, pero ningún pensador puede eludirlo. ¿Se puede enseñar a pensar? La respuesta es positiva y para ello el profesor debe inducir al alumno a que forme su propio criterio, e invitarlo a repensarlo permanentemente, pero nunca debe imponer su propio criterio. El auténtico pedagogo es el que respeta al otro, lo trata como igual. Es lo que le da un verdadero sentido democrático a la pedagogía y lo que abre caminos y posibilidades para una renovación profunda del sistema educativo.
