Retos actuales de la profesión universitaria

Nota aclaratoria del autor para Unipluri/ versidad: Este texto fue escrito desde el noroeste mexicano (Tijuana), donde un sector de la población ha tenido éxito económico sin necesidad de grado académico.
En Tijuana es común que se piense que “tener iniciativa emprendedora” es suficiente para triunfar (económicamente). Por eso la educación formal no goza de apoyo y no se hace evidente su necesidad en la ideología de la zona. Esto puede pasar en muchas otras regiones debido a la globalización.
¿Ha notado usted la angustia de los jóvenes antes de titularse de la universidad? Ante su nueva perspectiva les sobrecoge la sensación de agresividad del mercado de trabajo y la noción de que no están preparados para ello. Podría pensarse que es sólo un vértigo personal y pasajero, pero me parece que es el resultado de que el sistema educativo, y sobre todo los profesores, no hemos afrontado los retos que impone nuestro tiempo. No es cuestión de entrenarlos para su primera entrevista de trabajo. La punta del iceberg, tiene mucho más en el fondo. En las siguientes líneas pretendo dar una visión integral de los retos que enfrentamos los profesores y sus posibles soluciones priorizadas. Acompáñeme a esta zambullida por el mundo docente.
