Justicia económica y justicia educativa: más allá de la retórica del "alivio de la pobreza" y el "mejoramiento de la calidad de la educación"

Abstract

La retórica mundial sobre el Alivio de la Pobreza, por un lado, y sobre el Mejoramiento de la Calidad de la Educación, por otro, ha llegado a un nivel de agotamiento, por su reiteración y por su ineficacia sobre la realidad. Los progresos en ambos frentes (estrechamente inter-relacionados, como sabemos) son nulos o reconocidamente "modestos", a pesar de las políticas de ajuste estructural, las políticas sociales compensatorias (destinadas a aliviar el sufrimiento humano ocasionado por dichos ajustes) y las reformas educativas ensayadas a lo largo de las dos últimas décadas por los gobiernos de los "países en desarrollo", con asesoría y préstamos internacionales.

Author Biography

Rosa María Torres, Fronesis

Ecuatoriana. Licenciada en Ciencias de la Educación. Candidata al Doctorado en Lingüística Hispánica (México). Educadora, comunicadora y periodista educativa con experiencia de enseñanza, investigación y asesoría a nivel nacional e internacional (UNICEF, UNESCO). Desde el 2000 trabaja como investigadora y asesora internacional desde su propio instituto, el Instituto Fronesis, creado en Quito en 1991.  A partir del Foro Mundial de Educación (Dakar, abril de 2000)  coordina la red de firmantes del Pronunciamiento Latinoamericano por una Educación para Todos.
