The history of artistic practices in Colombia and internationally is also the history of cultural resistance. In a world where visual, auditory, and bodily languages are constantly absorbed by the logic of the market, entertainment, and empty aestheticization, it is urgent to insist on the critical power of art. This power is not an essential attribute or an ontological guarantee of the artistic object, but rather a possibility that is actualized in historical tensions, social frictions, and the will to denaturalize that which is presented as evident.
