Resumen. A partir de la obra del filósofo y sociólogo Zygmunt Bauman se caracteriza la modernidad, la posmodernidad o modernidad tardía y, con ellas, la sociedad donde se viven estas experiencias. Las nociones de ambivalencia y moralidad presentes en este autor dan sentido a su propuesta política
para una sociedad posmoderna, inconsciente de los efectos del capitalismo, e inserta en un mundo globalizado que no entiende de ciudadanos sino de consumidores.
Abstract. Based on the work of the philosopher and sociologist Zygmunt Bauman, the article characterizes modernity, postmodernity or late modernity, and, only with these, the society that lives these experiences. The notions of ambivalence and morality present in this author give meaning to his political proposal for a postmodern society, unconscious to the effects of capitalism, and inserted in a globalized
world that does not understand citizens rather consumers.
