Abstract

Abstract. This study examines the prevalence of 25 dental characteristics in a group of Araucanian adult skulls from southern Argentina, analyzing both arches and the totality of the dental pieces, except the tertiary molars. The study was conducted on the permanent dentitions of 36 mature adult skulls. It determined the absolute and relative frequencies of the characteristics studied. And it concludes that due to the frequencies that appear in the characteristics studied with the variables considered relevant in the characterization of dental complexes, the sample shows similarities with sinodont mongoloid populations.
