ESTRUCTURA Y PROCESO EN LA CONCEPTUALIZACION DE LA ENFERMEDAD
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present a summary of the current state of my proposals on the subject of health and disease, the discussion and the implications they have on the different aspects of medical practice.
Necessarily, I will have to refer to the different texts written on the subject, so that only a summary of them will be presented here, as a basis for developing some concepts that constitute what we could call the latest contributions, recently published and others still unpublished.
Two currents can be roughly differentiated in the field of social medicine; one implicitly accepts the concept of health and disease, in terms of basic definition and set of diagnoses and has been working on the side of expanding or modifying the explanation of the disease, relying on social factors and their determining influence in shaping the profiles of patients, and the other on the side of the social factors and their determining influence in shaping the profiles of patients.
