Estudio descriptivo de los homicidios ocurridos en Medellín durante el año 1981
Abstract
In the alcohol analysis, 60.67% were negative and only 28.98% were positive.
At the time of the recovery of the corpse, 89.7% of the homicides were of unknown motive, and among the known homicides, the highest percentage was robbery (34.23%). The assailant was also unknown in 93.62% of the cases, and the circumstances of the death showed that the predominant weapon was firearms (64.41%). 54.5% were killed on the spot and 33.46% in the same neighbourhood. A total of 54.83% of the victims received only one injury.
The time series shows that the months of March, May and December had the highest percentages, and the analysis of the endemic index for homicides in 1981 and 1982 shows that in 1981 the homicides were in the epidemic zone and with an upward trend; for 1982, despite being in the epidemic zone, the trend was relatively stable.
A time series was made of the monthly homicide cases in Medellin from 1977 to 1981.
1977 to 1981, a seasonal index was plotted, showing that the months of March, May and December had the highest percentages.
The analysis of the endemic indices for 1981 and 1982 shows that the incidence of homicides in both years is considered to be epidemic.
