DIEZ PRIMERAS CAUSAS DE HOSPITALIZACION POR ACCIDENTES DE TRABAJO EN EL ISS ANTIOQUIA, EN EL PERIODO 1977 - 1981
Abstract
A study was made of all the 1650 hospitalizations due to occupational accidents in the Social Security Institute corresponding to the period 1973-1981 and their relationship with the variables age, sex, economic activity, salary category, permanence, diagnosis, treatment, service, and discharge. It was found that about one third of all accidents occurred in the first three months of the year and that the same proportion was caused by motor vehicles. The relative figures indicate an average of hospitalization for this cause in the male sex and in personnel between 15 and 55 years of age. The lowest wage category and the activity, mining and quarrying, presented the highest risks: The average fatality rate in hospitalized accidents for the five-year period was 13.51 deaths × 1000 members.
