PREVALENCIA DE ENFERMEDAD PULMONAR CRONICA EN TRABAJADORES DE UNA INDUSTRIA TEXTIL
Abstract
The presence of industrial pollutants, especially dusts such as coal, cotton and silica, have been associated with a higher frequency of chronic bronchitis (Oyanguren et al., 1974) and obstructive lung diseases (British Bronchitis Committee, 1965) among exposed workers (ACGIH Cotton Dust Symposium, 1974).
Cigarette smoking also has the effect of increasing obstructive bronchopulmonary pathology, in addition to its recognized capacity to produce primary lung cancer.
