LA ADMINISTRACION POR OBJETIVOS
Abstract
There are frequent and different appreciations about effective management that have been given and continue to be given. There are those who continue to believe that man should be forced and controlled in his work activities. For others, management consists of a precise definition of work methods and procedures. In some cases, management is equivalent to making good decisions with the help of mathematics and computers. In others, it is either production or the person who produces that matters.
Regarding managerial styles, perhaps the most appropriate thing to say - following Lorsch - is that it is the characteristics of the organization and of the human group that make it up that should define the style. In other words, the way management is carried out depends on the circumstances and cannot be either rigid or generalizing.
This leads us to affirm that the successful manager is the manager of situations, the one who knows how to adapt his personality to the conditions of the moment, the situation and his subordinates, and not the other way around.
