TEST DE FILTRACION O PRUEBA TAMIZ
Abstract
In addition to morbidity surveys, and in particular the Prevalence Study, it is worth mentioning the screening test, which is generally referred to as a screening test.
It is used for early disease detection programs; an example is a program to detect cervical carcinoma by means of vaginal cytology, and to detect the presence of syphilis by Waserman's reaction.
When a screening program is established for the first time in a community, a data on the prevalence of the pathology investigated is obtained. The continuation of the program, i.e. periodic re-screening of the subjects of the community free of the pathology at the time of initiation, will give an Incidence data in a given period of observation.
When determining the presence of a disease in a community, we are dealing with a problem of Prevalence. It is the probability of having the disease at a given time and in a given community.
Incidence is the probability of contracting or acquiring the disease in a given period.
