By analyzing the real relations that exist between things, our mind acquires the capacity to form, from them, similar relations, thanks to associations by resemblance. These are representations that are copies of the real..." (Lenin. Philosophical Notebooks. Mexico, Librería Allende, 1979. p.410).
The method with which the study of any phenomenon is approached is determined, in the first place, by the very nature of the phenomenon and, almost to the same degree, by the conception with which its analysis is approached. Hence, the objects of study of Social Medicine are the collective health-disease process, the social practice of health care and the scientific and technological knowledge that humanity has developed in relation to health.
