ATENCION DE LA SALUD EN EL NIVEL PRIMARIO ASPECTOS CONCEPTUALES
Abstract
In the words of the Deputy Director of the World Health Organization, Dr. David Tejada de Rivero, “the priority program on a global scale is what we are calling primary health care. Its raison d'être is that in developing countries we will never be able to cover the entire population with the medical technology of developed countries. This means a reworking of the health system, not from the top down, as always by restructuring the central bodies due to conflicts of personal interests, but from the bottom up, for the whole population and with elements from the community itself” (1).
