APORTES A LA DISCUSION SOBRE EL CONCEPTO DE SALUD Y ENFERMEDAD
Abstract
I will begin by focusing on the chapter Disease and Society, from your second book with the same title. Let's start from the same question: How is it possible that we are working on an object that is not such (Health)? Justification for thinking ten years ago, today, and ten years from now.
Let us take it down, as you say, “from its theoretical level to place it on the ground that allows for greater utility”, a pragmatic reason, but one that arises from the need to improve our “work instruments” and from the social contradictions, especially in relation to medical practice and “health” actions.
Let us continue by accepting the great generality of the concept of well-being, which allows for the most diverse interpretations in a given society, especially when the adjective “complete” is applied in front of it and the adjective “social” behind it. If the health sector sets itself this objective, it is impossible to define its specific field of action, apart, of course, from the fact that the target is unreachable in the distance and movable in each given society and period.
