Abstract

Apreciados colegas:

Este año, por primera vez, la Rev. Fac. Ing. Univ. Antioquia tiene factor de impacto (FI) en la base de datos del Institute for Scientific Information ISI. La cifra del FI es 0.031, comparable con los FI de otras revistas que se publican en Colombia en áreas afines. Este resultado, realmente bajo si se compara en el ámbito internacional, se constituye en un reto para mejorar el proceso editorial. En especial, haciendo énfasis en la selección más rigurosa del contenido de los artículos, en el aumento de los artículos en inglés y en la disminución del tiempo entre la presentación y publicación de los artículos. Construir un índice de impacto es un trabajo de años, pero al menos ya empezamos.
