ABSTRACT This text demonstrates the ideological values of the Prose Tristan, a thirteenth century novel, based on extremely opposed elements as the Christian context that opens the novel and the profane dimension that consolidates Tristan and Isolde as representatives of an absolute courtly and chivalric ethics. Thay way it shows the disability the anonymous author has to get off the previous literary tradition (especially the context of the novels of the Grail), and how this is adapted to the ideals of a chivalric society.Downloads
