La Universidad: Tensiones y futuro

En este texto se ofrece una aproximación a la problemática de la universidad de cara a las demandas que le plantea la sociedad del siglo XXI. Para tal efecto se discute la universidad como una institución que: es histórica y específica, es contingente, se extiende más allá de sí misma y demanda estudios sistemáticos. Se presenta igualmente un panorama del nuevo contexto de la universidad y sus efectos sobre la construcción de la nueva institucionalidad para el nuevo milenio. A manera de conclusión se recuerda que la problemática de la educación superior desborda la misma institución y que el trabajo académico está enfrentando una progresiva ingerencia de la racionalidad gubernamental y empresarial.
