Internationally, there is a proliferation of conferences, seminaries and studies regarding cultural policy considered along with economic and political issues. As well, beginning in the 1960´s there has been a notable institutional construction of cultural areas, with the creation of new state agencies to deal with them. In this sense, Ciudad de Rosario has not been exempt from processes such as those recorded in other contexts in Argentina and Latin America. The purpose of this article is to share aspects of a socio-anthropological research on major trends in cultural policy and its links with the notion of heritage in the mentioned city.
