La autora presenta en este texto los resultados de su investigación de maestría, realizada sobre diecisiete de las estructuras líticas que definen algunos de los monumentos funerarios localizados en el Alto de las Piedras y Alto de los Ídolos (municipios de San Agustín y San José de Isnos) y lo hace desde una perspectiva sin duda novedosa, aborda las estructuras para identificar la policromía utilizada y sus técnicas y los interpreta en términos de la relación jerárquica que estas señalan, a juicio de los editores, la autora logra identificar a los artesanos de los monumentos funerarios y caracterizar su quehacer
