El autor señala la importancia que siguen teniendo las creencias y prácticas médicas tradicionales entre los indígenas Cubeo del Vaupés colombiano.
El presente ensayo da información sobre el origen de la enfermedad, sus causas, diagnóstico, prevención y tratamiento, y el ejercicio del especialista, el Payé (Chamán cubeo). Se anexan los Conjuros Chamánicos XXVI y XXVII.
