En este artículo se analizan los procesos de activació patrimonial y las complejas interacciones entre la legislación, las políticas culturales, las identidades y el consumo cultural que canalizan el turismo y los museos. El autor aporta elementos para el debate sobre la reglamentación de los aspectos conscernientes al patrimonio contenidos en la Ley de la Cultura aprobada en Colombia en 1997.
