Abstract

The Granizal vereda in the municipality of Bello, Antioquia, is considered the second-largest informal settlement in Colombia. The complexities found there range from the physical to the social; therefore, it is essential to study and analyze the spatial arrangement in all its dimensions, such as origin, topography, density, basic services, housing, equipment, mobility, and public space, and how is the relationship of the community as a determining actor under these physical-spatial conditions. Thus, this article approaches the territory as a whole based on the participatory design as a key tool for the process of conception and execution of a territorial intervention in Granizal. This approach allows a methodology in accordance with the realities of the place, in such a way that the collective space is dignified, and that this, in turn, has an impact on the living conditions of those who inhabit it.
