Research Data Policy

The Boletín de Antropología (Anthropology Bulletin) suggests that authors declare the origin of the research data used in the preparation of their manuscripts. The following should be explicitly stated:

  • Briefly outline the context of the data’s origin.

  • Explain how the data was used in the manuscript.

  • Indicate whether the data is stored in any repository and include a hyperlink to the corresponding material.

  • State whether the data contains sensitive information and whether there are any restrictions regarding its use.

  • If the data comes from third parties, make the proper citation.

Research data includes all documents related to the process of preparing the submitted publication and that are part of the development of the communication. This material is part of the validation of the claims presented in the manuscript by the anthropological academic community. Research data includes: figures (photographs, maps, illustrations), tables, interviews, databases, sample analyses, among others.

The editorial team of the Boletín de Antropología suggests that authors deposit the data related to the published manuscripts in repositories that follow the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).

For researchers at the University of Antioquia, data can be deposited in the institutional data repository: https://datosdeinvestigacion.udea.edu.co/.
