Abstract

This text tries to identify current trends in the process of social pacification. It analyzes the historical channeling of violence in the state regulatory, its demonstrated bankruptcy by the two world wars and the need for alternatives to violence expressed in the Universal Declaration of Human  Rights. The state is interpreted as an entity derived from the realism of political technology that collapses internally in the form of totalitarianism. This situation follows the need to redefine the issue of peace and, from there, new emerging trends to address the problem of violence.
