Estudios Políticos is a four‑monthly online publication of the Instituto de Estudios Políticos (IEP) of Universidad de Antioquia. Since 1992, the journal has been dedicated to disseminating research articles, review articles, reflections and critical book reviews that provide elements for the explanation of contemporary political issues in Colombia, Latin America and other parts of the world. The Journal publishes works by both national and international authors dedicated to Political Science and Social Sciences whose object of knowledge is political phenomena, after evaluation by the Editorial Committee and double-blind peer review. Estudios Políticos is an open access journal and does not charge for article processing (no APC).

This journal is funded by the Fondo de apoyo para la publicación de revistas especializadas and the Fondo de apoyo para la indexación de revistas científicas of Universidad de Antioquia.
