Suicide orientation profile based on the mental health indicators of adolescent students in the northwestern area of Medellín, Colombia, 2010

El final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial marcó un interés por comprender los trastornos mentales a través de la aplicación de encuestas en diversos países; este interés se ha ido estructurando y actualmente, en estudios realizados por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), se estima que 450 millones de personas en el mundo sufren de un trastorno mental o de la conducta. Estas dificultades son causantes de sufrimiento, exclusión social, incapacidad y una pobre calidad de vida, aumentan la tasa de mortalidad y tienen un impacto en los costos sociales y económicos.
