LA SALUD Y EL TRABAJO
Abstract
As a result of reformulations in knowledge and practice, physicians motivated by the limitations of the conventional medical model, by the important contributions of the social sciences in the field of health, and more directly by the growing struggles of workers in defense of better health conditions, a more scientific and comprehensive conceptual frame of reference of the relationship between health and work, with great theoretical and practical implications, has been taking shape.
Although it is true that since the middle of the last century important contributions have been made in this sense, it is necessary to recognize that the practices and the consequent theoretical developments have increased considerably in the last two decades of our century.
This material does not intend to summarize the work done on the subject but to highlight some of the facts and concepts that contribute most to understanding the dynamics of the Health-Work revelation and to stimulate urgent work in this direction.
