UNA FORMA PRACTICA DE PROTEGER LAS VACUNAS EN EL REFRIGERADOR
Abstract
One of the biggest problems we have in developing countries is the lack of the necessary equipment.
Although the ideal would be to keep a specific refrigerator for the conservation of vaccines where only these biologicals are stored and use the system promoted in the Expanded Program of Immunization (EPI) as shown in Figure 1.
However, it is not always possible in health centers to have several refrigerators available, so it is necessary to store some other biological products and sometimes food, the latter is not the most appropriate due to the number of times the refrigerator must be opened and therefore the increase in temperature.
In view of the above and in order to design a practical system to protect the vaccine in those places where it cannot be done in the ideal form of a refrigerator exclusively for the storage of these biologicals, we proceeded to test a simple method for this purpose.
