Abstract
These rates, compared with those of other sections of the country, for example Cundinamarca, and even more compared with the prevalent accident rates in other countries, are considered very high.
When the author joined the Social Security Management of Antioquia, he was advised by Professor Gustavo Molina Guzmán, Professor of the National School of Public Health of Medellín and with a wide experience in the administrative field in his native country (Chile) and in other countries of the world as Consultant of the Pan American Health Office and the World Health Organization.
Professor Molina convinced the new manager with his initial irritation in view of other administrative priorities.
