The qualitative study examined the coping strategies employed by a group of displaced persons, residents of the city of Bogotá. Participated 13 people refugeed by the National Association of Solidarity Assistance (ANDAS). It was hoped to identify coping strategies such as: use of social support, religion, strategies focused on the problem and emotion and positive reevaluation. It was found that these people resort to different strategies: they make use of their relatives and friends, of governmental and non-governmental organizations, in addition, they rely on the faith. It is proposed to look at these people beyond their status as victims, recognizing their ability to build their own future, using strategies to deal with obstacles.
