Collective Memory as an Enabling Condition for Female Resistance in the Narratives of the Literary Work The Inhabited Woman by the Writer Gioconda Belli

The aim of this research is to understand how collective memory contributes to the configuration of female resistance in contexts of violence, based on the analysis of the narratives of the literary work The Inhabited Woman, by the writer Gioconda Belli. Judith Butler's theory is taken as a reference to understand the configuration of gender and female resistance, as well as the perspective of critical social psychology to address the process of collective memory and the place it has in the maintenance and transformation of social order and subjectivity. The method of retroactive hermeneutics is used to carry out the analysis of the narratives that account for the forms of resistance. As a result, memory constructions are evident that allow us to question gender mandates and promote transformations in the places and possibilities assigned to women. It is concluded that, through memory, women develop resistance practices that configure new stories of the past, from which they take charge of their history and that of their people.
