Presented in this paper, tries to present an aside to that found in the study was conducted at the Center of Conciliation “Luis Fernando Vélez Vélez of the University of Antioquia, during the period between September 2003 and September 2004, research which had the original title: “The reconciliation in the conflict transformation process. A purpose of conciliation Conciliation Center “Luis Fernando Vélez Vélez”. It outlines the findings concerning one of the elements that arouses more interest in the context of dealing with conflict: the parties, figure, which in itself, summarize important in the framework of the contentious issue, and from which the profile people in their capacity as such, framed specifically in their role or come from one to the other. In this context then, I show that in the context of dealing with conflict, what prevails is not the assumption of the counterparty or another by what it is, but by the “idea” we have of it, the same that ultimately ends up determining how they relate to those who are going through the narrow passage of the conflict.
