Nos viene ocurriendo desde que éramos muchachos. A medida que se ha ido deteriorando nuestra facultad crítica, la verdad ha comenzado a sufrir derrota tras derrota. Lo grave de este deterioro, antes que un fenómeno del inesperado mundo vulgar, es un "defecto orgánico de quienes producen conocimiento". Ya lo había advertido Huizinga setenta años atrás: "Junto a este fenómeno de decadencia, hay además otro que podríamos llamar corrupción de la función asignada a la ciencia, o abuso de la ciencia como medio" (Entre las sombras del mañana, 1936,79)...
